One can reach San Vigilio from the lake, where it is possibile to dock boats in the small port facing the Taverna.
Alternatively you can come from the main Gardesana road.
This leads you down the avenue of cypresses, at the bottom of which lies the 16th century villa designed by
the threatest Veronese architect of the area, Sanmicheli.
The severe lines of the majestic construction are softened in the façade which faces on to the lake by an elegant loggia.
The beauty of the villa is further enriched by the Italian garden, whose mild climate allows typically Mediterranean
plants to flourish.
Walking down the cobbled road you come to the Lemon Grove with the statue of Venus and further on the
Locanda San Vigilio, one of the oldest hotels in Italy. To the left of the hotel lies the little bay with the Taverna Bar
and its splendid view of the lake.
From the avenue of cypress trees you can take a pleasant walk through the ancient olive groves to enter the
Park of the Bay of Sirene or to take a dip in its waters.
